SONJA PLUMMER Artistic Director/Producer of 'Storm the Stage'

Sonja Plummer is an International Producer and Artistic director, having worked on shows and events, both small and large, in many countries around the world. She has regularly produced and directed shows in Australia and across the USA for the past 30yrs.

Sonja began life in the entertainment industry, as a singer, performer and recording artist, having sung across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the USA. She starred in many musicals at home and abroad. She has regularly toured in the USA for the past 12yrs with her international concert, “The Heart Goes On”.

Sonja has been a regular backstage, on stage and in the production and direction of many shows at the magnificent Burswood theatre over the past decade. She loves the feeling of working in this venue.

“I have worked in some of the world’s most amazing venues, yet the Burswood theatre is one close to my heart.”

While touring the USA recently, she was asked where her ‘artistic inspiration’ came from. The answer was as simple then as it is now.

“I draw from my life’s experience, whether I am directing, producing or performing. Everything I work on must first come from a place within my heart, the rest is then easy.

Storm the Stage is such an event. It is an event which advocates helping young people in the Musical Theatre and Dramatic corners of the entertainment industry and does so in a caring and nurturing environment.

Western Australia holds a proud tradition of producing talented young people, who have gone on to become success stories in the entertainment industry, both at home and abroad. How amazing to have our State host this magnificent event and be a part of showcasing talent across our country on such a level. I am proud to be a part of Storm the Stage”.
