WESTERN AUSTRALIA SPONSOR
Healthway and
Heart Foundation are proud sponsors of Storm the Stage since
2005.
The primary purpose
for Healthway’s Arts Sponsorship Program is to provide support for arts
activities such as exhibitions, theatre/dance productions, arts
festivals, workshops and arts competitions. In return, these events
provide opportunities for the promotion of health messages, the creation
of healthy environments and increase participation in the arts. A
priority for the Arts Sponsorship Program is to support activities which
reach and engage with Healthway’s priority target groups, which are
children and youth, Indigenous groups and rural and remote communities
throughout Western Australia. In 2006/07 the Arts Sponsorship Program
allocated 99% of its sponsorship budget to these priority populations
and 94% of its budget to projects that promoted Healthway’s health
promotion priorities, which are smoking, nutrition, physical inactivity
and mental health.
The Minter Ellison Perth office has established
the Minter Ellison Youth Arts Foundation to provide support, financial
assistance and encouragement to Western Australia's aspiring young
visual and performing artists.
Since its inception, the Foundation has supported a variety of
visual and performing arts initiatives and built strong relationships
with some of the State's leading tertiary institutions.
TAZ Entertainment promotes Western Australia's performing arts scene in both metro and regional areas. Melanie DeCull, director of TAZ Entertainment has proudly been associated with Storm the Stage since its first year and continues to assist in the promotion of this talented and inspiring national youth event.
In Western Australia, a collaborative and cooperative arrangement has
been nurtured with Stirling Players Youth (SPY) theatre group to produce and
manage the preliminary rounds and workshops. This is an exciting opportunity
for young people with enthusiasm and passion for theatre to take responsibility
and ownership of producing a theatrical event. Storm the Stage welcomes this
opportunity in WA and looks forward to the production of the preliminary
rounds.
